Data we collect

Categories
  • Account and identity: handle, display name, email (if provided), password hash, locale, and account status.
  • Profile content: photos, bio, values, intent, prompts/answers, and other fields you choose to fill in.
  • Location signals: approximate location for matching and local suggestions. Your privacy mode affects what others see.
  • Messages and connection state: message content and metadata needed to deliver messaging and connection stages.
  • Usage and safety events: events that help operate the product and keep the system safe (blocks, reports, enforcement signals).
  • Billing (optional): subscription state and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. Payment details are handled by Stripe.
  • Technical data: request metadata like IP address and user-agent for security, abuse prevention, and support.

How we use data

Primary uses
  • Operate the service: create accounts, show introductions, run messaging, and maintain preferences and settings.
  • Safety and integrity: detect spam/abuse, enforce restrictions, and support blocks and reports.
  • Support and improvements: respond to support requests, debug issues, and improve reliability and UX.

How we share data

We do not sell your personal information
  • With other users: we show other users the profile information you choose to share.
  • Service providers: providers that run core functionality (for example, Stripe for subscriptions) process data on our behalf.
  • Legal and safety: we may share information if required by law or to protect users and the integrity of the platform.

Retention

How long we keep data
  • Active accounts: we retain data as needed to provide the service.
  • Deletion: you can request account deletion. Some records may be retained when necessary for safety, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Security

Safety-first defaults
We use security controls designed to reduce risk, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
  • Passwords are stored as hashes, not plaintext.
  • We monitor for abuse and may apply restrictions to protect users and the platform.
  • We minimize the amount of data required to deliver the product.
